Our passionate Apprenticeships and Business Development team are recruiting for an Employer Engagement Officer who will be responsible for employer engagement and student recruitment activities throughout the department.
As an Employer Engagement Officer you will be responsible for building and managing the college’s relationships with external stakeholders, particularly employers on a district, regional and national scale and will maximise the colleges employer facing activities.
Responsibilities include:
To be responsible for the income generation of apprenticeships across a number of curriculum areas.
Work in partnership with Business Development Officer/s to provide a high-quality experience for all employer partners.
Sourcing, vetting and passing on apprenticeship vacancies for the Business Development Officers to fill with their pool of candidates.
To be proactive in generating new business leads, responding to enquiries and managing relationships with existing employers.
To actively represent the college at external meetings and events.
To conduct employer training needs analysis, develop training plans for employers and produce proposals in partnership with curriculum colleagues across the college.
To work with or Projects Team to identify and write bids and proposals for new business opportunities.
To be confident in presenting the colleges apprenticeship offer at external events, including employer boards and external networks.
Building relationships with stakeholders involved in the Skills Agenda, including the Local Authority and Chamber for Business.
To assist the Head of Department in the development of sales, marketing and business development plans.
To work closely with curriculum areas on the employer’s behalf to ensure the development and delivery of appropriate training packages to meet employers’ needs.

Education & Training
GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

Experience
Experience of working in an externally facing role with responsibility for client/account management
Experience of working with employers and community partners
Experience of the interpretation of information and data sets to inform and enable the creation of training plans.
Excellent track record of achieving targets associated with income and recruitment of student numbers
Experience of supporting progression and achieving job outcomes for learners.
