Here at Bradford College we are on the lookout for a highly motivated and creative individual who is passionate about teaching the next generation of film makers and developing their skills and talents through a range of learning and enrichment activity to lead them to positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in film or media production, and current experience of practical film production. Confident use of appropriate camera, sound and/or editing equipment and software packages is essential as is a creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning. Experience of teaching across further and higher education courses is essential.

Responsibilities include:

 

The successful candidate will inspire and guide students in developing their technical skills, creative vision, and industry knowledge, preparing them for careers in film, television, and digital media production. You will teach on practical film and media production modules across the Level 2 and 3 UAL Diploma in Creative Media Production and the FdA Film and Media Production for the Creative Industries course as well as BA (Hons) Film and Media Production (Level 6 top up).

 

The role involves the preparation, delivery and assessment of teaching and learning as well as some pastoral responsibility. Bradford School of Art actively promotes a collaborative approach, and you will be expected to contribute to creative projects with colleagues from across the School and wider Faculty.

 

Main duties 

 

*               To teach on Level 2 and 3 UAL Diploma in Creative Media Production and the FdA Film and Media Production for the Creative Industries and BA (Hons) Film and Media Production (Level 6 top up)

*               To participate actively in the development of curriculum ensuring it is relevant, current and meets the needs of our students and the sector

*               To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.

*               To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.

*               To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.

*               To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.

*               To participate actively in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies.

Education and Training

 

*           Degree or equivalent in Creative Media

*           A relevant teaching qualification or willing to work towards this qualification

*           GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English (grade 4 / C or above)

*           Academic, industrial or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programmes

*           Experience of Outstanding teaching/training.

*           Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures
