We are excited to announce a new job opening for a Procurement & Contracts Manager to join our Finance & Procurement Department. This role requires someone who is organised, self-motivated and has strong negotiation skills. As the Procurement & Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating terms, and contributing to the Procurement Policy and Strategy under the guidance of the Head of Finance & Procurement.

 

The successful candidate will be the go-to person for Procurement & Contracts within the College and will play a key role in improving College Processes. If you are interested in this opportunity, we look forward to hearing from you.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to, and manage a comprehensive procurement policy, strategy and activity for the College.
  • Develop, manage and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level to ensure optimal supplier performance and price.
  • Develop, implement and maintain an evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance
  • Develop and implement a strategy to ensure the procurement function is operating in line with the objectives of the College to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings.
  • Manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services.
  • Lead and manage the Procurement team to deliver the appropriate support to the College to ensure corporate and business development objectives are met.
  • Provide specific, expert procurement advice and guidance to senior management, heads of departments and managers in order to achieve the College’s business objectives.

Hybrid working is negotiable for this role. This means you may be able to work a proportion of your time on campus and some remotely. Education & Training

  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • A specific procurement qualification is desirable but not essential

Experience

  • Understanding of financial regulations and UK Government procurement legislation.
  • Experience of managing service providers and achieving service level agreements.
  • Previous senior role in procurement and contract management.
