We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to join Bradford College as an Assistant Principal. Working closely with the Vice Principal of Quality, Teaching & Learning a key focus of this role will be to enhance the student experience by providing guidance and direction to Heads of Department and supporting the delivery of cross college projects to ensure an exceptional student offering.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Head of Student Services and the Head of Student Support. Additionally, they will be appointed as a Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Responsibilities include:
Providing guidance and direction to the Heads of Department with the building, content and presentation of a Departments Business Plan as appropriate
Providing guidance and direction to the Heads of Department around departmental delivery of agreed KPIs.
Supporting the delivery of key cross-college projects that will enhance and lead to an outstanding student experience.
Advising on key data sets that will support and inform both Executive and Heads of Department of progress toward outstanding
Advising on how best capital and revenue is spent to ensure we maximise the student experience and student outcomes
Leading on special projects as required and agreed by the Senior Leadership Team
Coaching and mentoring Heads of Department as required and agreed by the Senior Leadership Team
Support the Head of Student Services with the development of the College’s enrichment and enhancement plans.
Lead on the design and implementation of the College’s Student Voice plan.
Providing cover and capacity for the Executive as and when appropriate
Promoting greater collaboration and ‘working together’ across the SLT, CMT and wider within the College.
Defining and role modelling expected behaviours for staff
Promoting high standards of student behaviour across college

Education & Training
Leadership & Management Qualification (Level 5) or willingness to work towards one
GCSE 5 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

Experience
Experience of working at a Head of Department level in an FE educational setting.
Experience of coaching and mentoring middle and first line managers.
Experience of leading institution change
Experience of creating an outstanding student experience
Experience of creating outstanding learning environments
Experience of leading a cross college project
Experience of working as DSL or DDSL
