We are seeking two passionate and resilient Maths lecturers to join our innovative Maths and English Department.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping our learners achieve their full potential by teaching GCSE and Functional Skills courses in our 16-19 provision.

 

This is a fixed term role until 30th June 2025.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • To teach courses specified by the Head of Department/Team Leader.
  • To participate actively in the development of curriculum; and where appropriate in cross-collection marketing activities.
  • To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
  • To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
  • To be responsible to the Head of Department/Team Leader for student discipline, counselling and guidance relating to all assigned classes.
  • To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
  • To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.

Education & Training

  • Degree or Equivalent qualification
  • Level 5 subject specialism or other appropriate qualification
  • A relevant teaching qualification or working towards this qualification.
  • GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in Maths or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C)
  • GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in English or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C)

 

Experience

  • Academic or industrial or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programmes.
  • Experience with interactive whiteboards and Moodle.
  • Experience in delivering FE including assessment with AQA, Ascentis and other awarding organisations
