We have a fantastic opportunity within our Health Science, Meditech and Technology department for a Pharmacy Lecturer to join the team for a period of 12 months.
The role will include supporting the Head of Department, Head of School for Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Academic Lead to ensure that all courses meet the needs of students, college and the community and that students receive a high-quality experience whilst ensuring quality and financial targets are met.
This position would be an ideal secondment opportunity and there are multiple roles available for either Full Time or Part Time hours.

Responsibilities include:
Demonstrate an up to date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies and know how to use and adopt them to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
Demonstrate appropriate teaching strategies and resources which are utilised to suit the differential ability of students, when introducing and consolidating new ideas and concepts
Ensure students’ prior knowledge and attainment are built upon, in order that they make sustained progress
Keep adequate records of students progress and attainment.
Teach on courses specified by the Head of Department/Head of School.
Motivate and build self-esteem and self-worth/self-belief, developing a ‘can do ‘attitude with students.
Participate actively in the development of curriculum; and where appropriate in cross College curriculum development.
Participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
Devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
Devise Plans of Learning for the taught curriculum.
Act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.

Education & Training
A relevant degree or relevant professional qualification.
A recognised teaching qualification, working towards one or the commitment to complete one within a specified time period.
A professional registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Evidence of continuous professional development and the ability to reflect on teaching practice and personal performance
GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
Experience
Specialist knowledge of subject - Pharmacy.
Academic, professional or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programmes.
Experience of utilising Information Technology and Information, Learning and Technology both within learning and for administrative purposes
Demonstrable post registration experience
